code?
dreamweaver or
something, I
use to just use
notepad but I
downloaded the
Zend Studio and
its not that

me errors and
stuff and will
let me test
straight from

I do use
Dreamweaver
because I have
it, and for the
syntax
highlighting.
However, for
quick edits and
such I use
notepad. I
believe their
is a free
"advanced
notepad"
that has syntax
highlighting
for multiple
languages. You
could Google it
if you were
curious.

i've used
ultraedit for a
long time, but
i'm trying out
eclipse (with
the phpeclipse
plugin) since
it highlights
syntax errors
as you type.
its editor
isn't as
powerful as
ultraedit
though so i'm
not sure i'll
stick with it.
eclipse is
free; ultraedit
is $45 for a
single-user
license (it has
a free 30- or
45-day trial
though)

I haven't
really
considered
using anything
else but it
sounds like I
should try some
of these others
that have
highlight
syntax errors
as you type. In
the version of
Dreamweaver
that I have,
you know if you
have an error
in PHP if it
stops
highlighting or
if everything
turns one
color.

I usually use
metapad, and
then launch it
in my browser,
before checking
its
compatability
in other
browsers.
Its a bit of a
problem when
troubleshooting
the code, I
port it into
dreamweaver if
I have a
problem I cant
see after hours
of looking (but
im a glutton
for
punishment!)
As bsod says
search google
for a good free
text editor
with features
like metapad
(slightly more
advanced than
notepad) and
with
highlighting
incorporated
Just because I
dont care,
doesnt mean I
dont
understand. |
