Is it bad to have a lot of columns in one table of SQL? Is there a limit?

My current table has 8 columns, but there will most likely be 100 columns. All of these will constantly be updating too.

I just would like to know if it is bad, if it is I am going to divide them by categories.

Actually the more I'm thinking, the more I better divide them.

Coding is simply CST... Combining $hit Together. We make different $hit to run in unison correctly.

The first thing that is coming to my mind is Database Normalization. Have a read, it maybe the answer you're looking for.
