if you want to change something that you've already output in the page, javascript is probably your best bet. search for "javascri pt settimeout&quo t; and you should find some examples.

it may be a good idea to also specify a refresh in case somebody has javascript off.

Thanks for your response. I guess the answer to my question was "no" ; then. *Smiling* Thanks anyway. ...If I'm correct, in php settimeout works by limiting the amount of time a script runs, then returns an fatal error if the time is exceeded. I'm assuming it does not work the same way in javascript?

right. javascript settimeout is a way to run a function after a certain amount of time.
