JavaScript is a programming language used on client side meaning your browser and it is used mainly with forms, opening new popup windows and such. I use it mainly for adding new HTML content to my website.

Javascript is not much of a programming language. As the name suggests, its a script. It was specially designed to be useful to programmers as well as non-programmers . Anyone can use it after learning its basic syntax. Mostly used to carry out client side operations.
